About the Glen Haven Town Hall Reconstruction Project
In September of 2013, the tiny town of Glen Haven was devastated by floodwaters that swept the area. The community of Glen Haven united and, with the help of volunteer groups from all over the nation, were able to clean up after their huge loss.
Of the 12 buildings and businesses in downtown Glen Haven, all that remain are the General Store, The Inn of Glen Haven, the Fire House, and the Post Office.
The Town Hall was completely destroyed, having been pushed off its foundation and into the General Store. New restrictions on building prohibit the Town Hall from being rebuilt in its original location.
Land for the new Town Hall has been purchased and building plans are in the works, thanks to the generosity of community members and others that love our little town.

The Glen Haven Town Hall project is progressing. MJ Aldrich Builders of Estes Park has been chosen to be the General Contractor. Mr. Aldrich has met with Mr. Michael Tavel of Sun Productions, (our Architect) and with members of the Steering Committee and Board of Directors to begin the process of scheduling the construction of the building. As is the case with any building project, the site must be prepared.
Excavation work has started and Doug Grice, owner of Devil’s Gulch Excavation, continues to remove material in preparation for foundation work. The terrace work required on the hillside behind the building will require some extensive machine work as well.
The original plan to terrace with rocks is currently being reconsidered. After investigating the availability of suitable rocks with which to build, it has been determined that the sheer volume needed is probably going to drive us to something other than rocks.
Fund raising efforts continue with an estimated $200,000 still needed for the project.
